They are trying hard to get cost of insurance premiums down & the numbers who are covered up

It involves a simple technique. Offer near worthless plans at discounted rates. Statistically that does the trick. Watch for predictions that the average cost of health insurance under Trumpcare will go down. And they will, after they factor into the averages the costs for millions of shoddy policies that will leave people largely unprotected.

And some people will actually buy them, either because they won't truly grasp how lousy they are, or simply because they are scared to death of not having at least some minimal form of catastrophic heath insurance that they can manage to scrape together enough money to pay for on their own. And those people will be counted as fully "covered by health insurance" in the same way that those who now are covered under the ACA are counted. And Republican hope that will make it seem like they didn't really kick 24 million people off of health insurance.

They are playing a numbers game. Liars making statistics lie for them.

most of their "market based solutions" involve allowing elimination of any restrictions on the ability of the corporate world to screw people.

2. We will be back to 'junk' insurance. Obama worked hard to quash them with ACA and now GOP will

be bringing them back.

Lots of discussion during months of putting together ACA. Naturally many repugs wanted them kept in. But as Obama said many times--the ACA was INSURANCE REFORM!!

And they'll tout these worthless plans that families can get for just a couple hundred a month.

I worked a factory job one year that was really terrible working conditions and the insurance they offered was a joke and you had to read about 40 pages of fine print to realize you weren't covered for anything. It read something like this, $1000 deductible per visit, covered 80% for anything over $1000 and up to $2000, nothing over $2000 covered. These plans they will offer will be worse than this, just ridiculous and worthless.

It is meaningless unless you look at the details. Both may include a fresh fruit desert with their dinner entree. One offers a large bowl of fresh fruit salad. The other, for 25 cents less, offers you a grape.

are spending around 40% of the premium money they collect on actual services as opposed to the 80% they have to spend under the ACA. They will pocket 60% of the money and use a percentage of that to fund the coffers of Rs to keep them in office. Who knows, with any luck they can get that profit margin up to 75%.

in order to deliver meaningful reforms. They think they can march 8 steps forward, and later with much fanfare, give one of those steps back if forced to.

This time I think they will be wrong, but I lot of suffering will go down before justice is restored if they get away with this move.
