General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsGorsuch sounds like he is sociopathic. I mean that litterally.
This article in The Guardian is talking about it too. They are noticing how he has no emotional response to the frozen truck driver.
We unfortunately have sociopaths in congress, the WH, and now they want one on the supreme court.
BIG TROUBLE!

(1,018 posts)The little I did hear, he sounded very arrogant. He did not seem contemplative or even keeled for the bits I saw.

Franken is doing a great job. Thanks to DemocracyNow and DemocraticUnderground for keeping all of this information flowing!

(1,018 posts)Thank you for posting this. As I said, only saw bits, and had heard of the frozen trucker, but I couldn't imagine this ruling was as absurd and unfeeling as it is. And btw, what a gem Senator Franken is in the Senate.

(6,344 posts)For "mom" to not care about the environment is another telling sign. To not love and honor the Earth, one is lacking deeply in feeling and connection to life itself.

(9,865 posts)...why he sounds so fake when he's being folksy and extra soft spoken. Playing the role of someone who actually feels feelings.
It would explain why listening to his "sincerity" was so eerie.
Equinox Moon
(6,344 posts)It was creepy listening to him. I could not understand what was so off, and then it comes out that he is acting like a person with no feelings. Incapable of feeling.
This is a terrible SCOTUS pick!

(6,344 posts)shorten up that "lifetime" appointment thing. What is up with that? In my state the federal judges have to retire at 70. There needs to be a limit on SCOTUS.

I have yet to hear of a sociopathic Democrat.
It is extremely harmful to give a lifetime appointment to someone incapable of feeling.

(45,550 posts)I had a scary conversation with friends I grew up with in Appalachia. The common theme seems to be that since their lives are hard, their hearts have become hardened and really don't want to see others get benefits.
They cite problems with coal mines and factories closing, drugs like meth and heroin in rural areas, shitty experiences while serving overseas in the military, etc. Liberal concerns are laughable in comparison to soldiers witnessing bodies of children who died of thirst in the desert. I explicitly asked them about elderly poor people losing health benefits and meals on wheels, and their answer was let them die. Those elderly had a whole lifetime to plan better and make different choices, so tough shit. No more socialism. No quarter.
A lot of truckers will freeze to death on Trump's watch and these assholes are fine with it. They think liberals are trying to kill long haul trucking jobs somehow anyway, by building more railroads or something.

Maybe GN-z11.. which is 13.38 Gly away.. That seems to be a 13.38 gigalight-years -- OR
13,000,000,000 light years away.
That's much farther than pluto and even farther out than Trey Goudy.
Don't even ask....
