http://io9.gizmodo.com/amazon-pulls-castalia-house-book-for-ripping-off-john-s-1793533638Theodore Beale thinks he's a successful author. John Scalzi actually is. Ever since Scalzi criticized him, Beale has been trying to upstage and humiliate him. See if you can spot the flaw in his plan:
* John Scalzi is publishing a new novel, "The Collapsing Empire". The cover-artwork is a spaceship's rear in front of a planet.
* In order to prove that he's more successful than John Scalzi, Beale is publishing a novel under the alias "Johan Kalsi". The title is "The Corroding Empire". The cover-artwork is a spaceship's rear in front of a planet.
Beale wants to prove that's he's better than Scalzi. By being a cheap rip-off of Scalzi.

Beale tried to troll me over it. Gave me a ton of hits on my website but no one actually bothered to comment on it.
I interviewed the author of the novel a little while later and her comment was "Well, in the end I have five Hugos and he's a sad little man living in tax exile in Italy."

He's posted links to track the comparative ranks of Scalzi and Beale's books.
