NPR describes the House Intelligence Committee

During this mornings top o' the hour news headlines, NPR announced the start of the Senate's hearings on Russia's possible tampering with the 2016 election, mentioning the Senators' hope that it would devolve into the partisan bickering that has hobbled the House Intelligence Committee.

Partisan bickering, got it? Not Nunes and Republicans doing their best to stonewall the investigation and cover up any wrongdoing. Nope, it's partisan bickering, so Democrats are as much to blame as Republicans, or something.

I still think they make an effort to be less partisan than other outlets, and I think that's what we're seeing there. It's still light years better than any other local radio options where I live.

The truth here is that Devin Nunes has acted in an unprecedented way, violated the committee's executive oversight role, coordinated with the target of the investigation, and obstructed justice.

Meanwhile, Adam Schiff has acted in a statesmanlike way and has been measured and insightful on the issues.

NPR is infuriating. Flat Earth Journalism at its best. Just because conservative radio is spewing biased hate doesn't mean NPR should abdicate their responsibility to report the truth.

Nunes' behavior is shameful and in fact threatens American democracy. This is no time for equal-sides, flat earth journalism. Protect the truth.

Sadly NPR counts as corporate

Best media outlets today are foundations or non profits: Propublica, MoJo, Guardian.

Closely behind are some privately held / family controlled media firms: NYT, WaPo.

Sadly, not much good TV media. John Oliver, Rachel - most of MSNBC is ratings-chasing and CNN, NBC, CBS poor, while Fox NC is straight-up unpatriotic America-harming drivel.

...who claimed the charges against Nunes were nothing more than overcharged partisan rhetoric.

Let me guess: they closed the segment without airing a Democratic response nor any refutation of Hewitt's claims? That would be par for the course.

I actually posted a bit of an NPR screed in the thread about this yesterday.
