But then I have never ridden with Uber or Lyft and the last time I used a taxi was 50 years ago.

WE THE PEOPLE pay for the bus and WE THE PEOPLE deserve for it to be maintained, not have the funds shifted to someone else's profit!!!!!

And frankly, I've noticed this for quite a long while.

It will get to the point that public education is incapable of turning out critical thinkers because of the dumbing down of curriculum and the insertion of idiotic bible based nonsense as "Science". Public schools will be little more than factories producing, as George Carlin put it - "Obedient Workers" - people just smart enough to run and/or repair the machines, and do so with continued lower wages, longer hours and crappier benefits.

Meanwhile, the children of the likes of the DeVos's of the world will continue to be able to attend exclusive private academies and expensive higher education universities.

The likelihood of the child from an average income family to attend a high level college will continue to diminish to the point that the only ones even capable much less able to afford entering a Yale or Harvard or even a UCLA will be the children of the 1%.

If this agenda is allowed to take hold, this country is fucking doomed.

DeVos is the perfect choice to destroy public education. She will destroy it not intentionally (like Pruitt at the EPA) but by her shear ignorance and incompetence.....and her private school choice agenda will make her, and her counterparts, even wealthier off the back of the taxpayers. Generations of ignorant uncritical thinkers is the intended outcome.
