In 1968, according to a book I just read, a British airline had an advertising poster that read

"AMERICA, SEE IT WHILE IT LASTS." They should start printing it again.

The book is Another Little Piece of My Heart, by Richard Goldstein. For you youngsters, 1968 was pretty bad, but this is far worse.

Piece of My Heart. Erma Franklin (Aretha's older sister) recorded it first in 1967. Janis did it with Big Brother and the Holding Company in 1968.

now we have a counter counter culture running amok. We will see if it chokes on its own extremism and excesses.

No bloodshed is required, or desired. This is the type of revolution we should be working towards, in my humble opinion.

As in "see the unspoiled nature of America before it becomes an urban landscape".

They were trying to sell tourism, not tickets to Eve of Destruction.
