(53,074 posts)He wouldn't have announced the filibuster if he didn't. He's letting some of the Senators in red states vote yes, but he knows they have enough. I think I'm right on that.

(2,897 posts)After the significant failure of the Republican party to control it's members on Trumpcare, Schumer wouldn't commit to an embarrassing failure if he didn't have the votes.

(19,568 posts)He's letting those in vulnerable seats exit so we live to keep fighting after 2018 & 2020, but this battle is ours now. I believe this is the strategy.
