Tom Perez won't apologize for saying republicans don't give a sh*t about people.

Last edited Wed Apr 5, 2017, 07:10 PM - Edit history (1)

Not the language I would have chosen, but I definitely prefer a democratic leader with fire in the belly.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2017/04/02/tom-perez-wont-apologize-for-insulting-trump-and-gop-leaders-heres-why/?utm_term=.26d4c52db394&wpisrc=nl_most-draw14&wpmm=1

On Friday, Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez told activists in New Jersey that their protests were hitting the Trump administration where it hurt. He pointed to Jan. 21, the day of the Women’s March, as the start of a resistance that had been more effective than critics ever expected.

“Women marched all over the world and said: Donald Trump, you don’t stand for our values!” Perez said. “That’s what they said. Donald Trump, you didn’t win this election!” If anyone didn’t want to hear this, Perez had an answer: “I don’t care, because they don’t give a s--- about people.”

Hours later, the conservative Daily Caller posted clips of Perez’s remarks for a story that was shared on Facebook more than 18,000 times. Ronna Romney McDaniel, the new chair of the Republican National Committee, demanded an apology for the “dangerous” remarks, snarking that Perez “needs a lesson on how the electoral college works.”

But Perez did not apologize. On Saturday, in Texas, he said exactly the same thing. In an email, Perez spokeswoman Xochitl Hinojosa explained that the DNC chair was not going to stop belittling Trump’s victory.

I am constantly looking for tiny silver linings in all of this clusterfuck that we may have to endure for a long time, and that is one. No longer can they dismiss any criticism that is laced with strong, even vulgar, language to make a point. They wanted to be big boys and girls and dismiss vulgarity as "locker room talk" for their own, even for the President of the United States of America. Insisting during the election that we shouldn't be so judgemental about descriptive expletives.

I have a particular disdain for the Evangelical Christian big church community, as it is the background that I escaped from. The blatant hypocrisy of purporting to follow in the humble footsteps of someone called Jesus, and for years, decades, used their influence, and even their pulpits, to demonize Obama and Democrats as foul mouthed worldly creatures that they were better than. And then proceded to encourage their flocks to vote for that pig. They now have zero credibility to demand apologies for appropriate strong even expletive language back at them. They have already relinquished that ground after championing a twice divorced, sexual abusing, narcissistic, self aggrandizing, vulgar piece of shit that he is.

I mean, why should he? If the shoe fits and all that. What have the Republicans done recently or over the past 8 years to prove that statement wrong? They blocked or filed lawsuits against tons of stuff that President Obama proposed or signed and everything they've been pushing and the Obama polices they've undone with Trump as POTUS will be harmful to the vast majority of Americans. They haven't done "Thing One" to prove that they care about anybody who isn't the "right" race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, etc. For a group of people whom claim to be "strong" and unapologetic and "non-PC" and are now being lead by a guy who unabashedly likes talking about grabbing women by the genitals, they seem to act like a bunch of crybabies the instant somebody stands up to them to their face. Dems are so bloody careful that we understate, usually because the Repubs go nuclear on us if we tell it like it is.

Im ready for the Dems to just fucking say the truth, plainly without wincing words. Sometimes we yah yah all around trying not to offend anyone w the blunt truth.

He's absolutely right--repunks don't give a fying fluck about people--only about getting and keeping power, even at the expense of the Constitution. Hell will freeze over before he'll apologize for telling the truth.
