remember all the talk last year that Trump was so reprehensible that Hillary would get a Dem Senate and House.
Stop over estimating the American voter.
2018 will still be a very tough election. Only 8 Republican Senators are running and the House is still heavily gerrymandered.
There is also now no break on voter suppression.
If we aren't realistic, we can't fight this effectively.

Dec2016
The November election put Republicans in full control of a record number of state legislatures around the country, a level of power that gives the party an unprecedented opportunity: change the U.S. Constitution.
Republicans already control Congress, the White House and more governors' offices than they have in nearly a century. But it's the state legislatures that hold perhaps the greatest promise for lasting change.

this is a very important issue and they are trying in many states including mine they only need a few more states!
But yes what eggs? 2018 will not be any big blow out of the house and hard to even make change in the senate imo.

(9,245 posts)That's what we're up against ie: gerrymandering - it takes at least THREE Dem votes to equal ONE Repub vote. And it's even worse in many places.

Yeah, it'll be tough, but not as tough as every future election will be if the GOP machine isn't stopped by caring voters in 2018.

And if we don't make 2018 a big GOP rebuke, I don't think we'll get another chance.
