Gillibrand: 'If we're not helping people, we should go the f--k home'
By Nikita Vladimirov - 04/04/17 11:51 AM EDT
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) believes lawmakers should "go the f--k home" if they are not helping the American people.
In an interview with New York magazine published Tuesday, Gillibrand said that her perspective is similar to that of Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), which is that lawmakers are in office "to help people."
I know Susans worldview is similar to my worldview. Which is that were here to help people, and if were not helping people, we should go the f--k home, she said.
Gillibrand praised the Women's March, which mobilized millions of women around the country, calling it "the most inspiring moment of my life because I believed five years ago that the womens movement was dead.
Gillibrand, who has cast the most "no" votes on President Trump's Cabinet nominees, defended her approach, saying she is judging each nomination on its own merits and not based on how she feels about Trump.
I look at each nominee. If they suck, I vote against them. If theyre worthy, I vote for them," she maintained.
In the piece, Collins praises Gillibrand's ability and work ethic, adding that she would not be surprised to see her run for president.
It would not surprise me if Kirsten were a candidate for higher office some day, Collins said.
She has enormous ability, she works extremely hard, shes engaging, shes young. And dont take that as an endorsement, or Ill be in even more trouble than I am now.

Little known fact: Most offices in the Dirksen Senate Office Building are on a higher floor than the Oval Office, which is on the ground floor.

Wow, a politician thought spoke her mind. Hmmmm, and the jackasses (Rethugs) claimed she was going to be voted out when her term ended.
Maybe she should run in 3 years.
