17 companies pull ads from 'The O'Reilly Factor' in growing backlash

"The O'Reilly Factor" is facing a growing advertiser revolt, as 17 companies have pulled their commercials from the show amid a scandal involving the host, Bill O'Reilly.

Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, BMW of North America, Mitsubishi Motors, Lexus, Constant Contact, Bayer, Ainsworth Pet Nutrition, Orkin, UNTUCKit, Allstate, Esurance (which is owned by Allstate), T. Rowe Price, GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi, Credit Karma and Wayfair are pulling ads from "The O'Reilly Factor" after a report about five settlements with women who alleged sexual harassment or verbal abuse by O'Reilly.

The decisions signal the potential of financial damage for "The O'Reilly Factor," the most popular show on cable news, and its network, Fox News.
Paul Rittenberg, the executive vice president of advertising sales at Fox News, addressed the exodus in a statement on Tuesday.

"We value our partners and are working with them to address their current concerns about the O'Reilly Factor," Rittenberg said. "At this time, the ad buys of those clients have been re-expressed into other FNC programs."

All the above companies are largely responsible that Bill'o is a multimillionaire!

But at least they are doing the right thing now. However, it is to early to determine what impact it will have on his show!!!

Look out below!

I wonder how Mr. Rittenberg will "address their current concerns about the O'Reilly Factor"? Those concerns appear to be quite integral to the program, seeing as how they are resident in the eponymous bombastic creep who is the central focus of the show. Can you have the O'Reilly Factor without Blotchy Bill O'Reilly?

altogether. Hopefully this will be enough to get O'Lielly off the air, but it won't be enough until Fox goes under.

Fox may decide he's not profitable enough to keep on air. He is their highest rated show though, so it would need to stretch out for a while. It may just motivate them to settle lawsuits.

Fox can pay Bill big bucks because his highly rated show gets top dollar from companies who want to advertise on his show. If the show no longer generates millions in advertising revenue for Fox, then there is less money to pay Bill and all other expenses for the show and still show a profit.

Faux does get high cable subscriber fees, almost as much as ESPN, but both cable and the geezer Faux audience are dying off
