Assad's chemical strike followed Trump administration overtures

their making statements in the past few days that they weren't interested in deposing the Syrian ruler. http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/30/politics/tillerson-haley-syria-assad-turkey/

Then it took the Trump administration NINE HOURS to issue a statement. Trump refused to comment on Syria when asked repeatedly throughout the day. Then he blamed Obama.

“These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the last administration’s weakness and irresolution,” he said in a statement. “President Obama said in 2012 that he would establish a ‘red line’ against the use of chemical weapons and then did nothing.”

"There was also no mention in Trump statement on Tuesday of what impact the attack would have on Washington’s approach to Assad’s principal backers, Russia and Iran."https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/04/syria-gas-attack-trump-us-foreign-policy

In a CNN segment this morning, Nicholas Burns called Trump "cowardly" for blaming his predecessor.

Trump's recklessness and bellicosity of language is reverberating back, said Chris Cuomo.
70 people have died.

Phil Mudd, the former CIA guy on CNN, talked about how Trump's statements on both Syria and N Korea communicate that the administration will take action, though the US has no intention of ousting Assad.

We have a buffoon playing president, who is concerned entirely with his own ego, and he is blundering along in ways that are costing lives.

up with murdering scumbag Assad, he is wrong...we will take to the streets and bring the GOP down for this...I don't give a damn;they are all guilty. And when we get back in power, we need to strip the presidency of the power to make war without the permission of Congress...troops are being secretly sent to Syria...by this illegitimate president. And with all the tough talk on the Korea issue and the hints that nuclear weapons 'are on the table', he may be the second president to use nuclear weapons. There is no military option for North Korea.

It is a Chinese curse I believe..."May you live in interesting times". Interesting means turbulent or dangerous.
