The speed with which the law to sell our privacy down the road passed, with little debate and very few Republicans dissenting, surprised me a tiny bit. I would have thought there'd be a few Republicans concerned about backlash from their own peculiar base.
Seeing the article about Rebekah Mercer and Cambridge Analytica and Steve Bannon reminded me of just how powerful that nexus is in this administration. Their little database of 220 million Americans will be so much more useful after they add in browser history. At least it's helpful to try it out as a concept, and what a way to make their big data that much more valuable. Maybe the Russians could help pay for it.
So Brannon is off the NSC and onto health care. How handy. There's a lot of medical history embedded in that browser history too, by the way.
