Putin loyalists attended the National Prayer Breakfast and a private dinner w/GOP congressmen held by Rockefeller heir George ONeill. Russian businessmen are also preparing to soften anti-Russian sentiment in America and even Mike Tyson is in on the act.
The leader of the Russian delegation to the National Prayer Breakfast was central bank Deputy Chairman and reported crime boss Alexander Torshin. Torshin, a gun enthusiast, has also been to NRA gatherings:

Rohrabacher, whos visited Moscow several times, said hes interested in lowering the temperature of U.S.-Russia relations and finding ways to cooperate in combating our mutual, overarching enemy: radical Islamic terrorism. Trump invited him for a private talk in the White House this week.

Ronald Maxwell, who directed the 1993 Civil War film Gettysburg and wrote for Breitbart News when it was run by senior White House adviser Stephen Bannon, said the Americans urged their Russian guests to let the Kremlin know that Putin can help Trump by being patient. Trump needs to lock up some major domestic victories, Maxwell said by phone. Then hell be in a better position to do the things internationally he wants to do.
In the meantime, Russian businesses are pushing ahead with projects to try to bring the two countries closer together. Russias top lobbyist is organizing a road show for entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to investors across America this summer. And the co-owner of a leading for-profit university, Synergy, plans to hire Mike Tyson to promote a business conference in New York in October, followed by one in Moscow in November.

So while Russian diplomats and government agents may be foiled due to Trump/Russian investigations, Russian businessmen are poised to take up the slack.

(90,773 posts)Monitoring election for fairness is one thing. Helping (by whatever means) to determine the election another.
There's foreign influence and then there's foreign interference.
Influence isn't an absolute negative. Interference almost always is.
Buying said influence, however, can rock the foundations. Government that is for sell is a government that will sell out the people.
The article is disturbing. Not shocking, but disturbing.
Trump, and not just him, needs to go. There should be consequences.
I only hope there is justice.
