about it. So I googled again this morning to see if the story has "legs", and no, not really.
I called Rep. Schiff's office a bit ago, and the nice woman who answered said she had not talked to Rep. Schiff about it, so she has no information about it.
I called the TX Attorney General's office - the woman I spoke with gave me the number to the FBI office that covers Austin, where Jones has his headquarters.
So I called the FBI at 512/345-1111 and reported Jones' terroristic threatening of a Federal official. The young man took my name and phone number, I explained why I was calling, and he said he had not heard of this threat. I was hoping I could email him the text of jones' threat. Nope.
A DUer or two, as of last night, said they had tweeted the FBI about this - so, that's "something"!
I guess I want a big uproar, and I want this jones arrested, at the very least. If anyone can point me towards even a petition to sign, I thank you in advance!
Anyway, here's what jones said - 3 days ago now?:

Alex Jones' threat to congressman may be a felony
Law enforcement officials are not saying whether they will charge broadcaster Alex Jones, the right-wing conspiracy theorist ally of President Donald Trump, for publicly threatening to beat Representative Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and telling Schiff to fill your handa reference to taking up a pistol.
But, says an attorney with expertise in federal law, Joness threats appear to break a federal law, U.S. Code Title 18, Section 115, which makes it illegal to threaten to assault a U.S. official and provides a penalty of up to six years in prison.
I do think that the combination of Joness comments would amount to a threat, says Amanda Berman, director of legal affairs with Lawfare Project, a consortium of experts on national security law. It seems to be a clear provocation. Ultimately, the question would have to be put to a judge or jury, but I think there is a legal basis for a conviction based on Joness threat, which was made with intent to impede, intimidate or interfere with Congressman Schiffs exercise of his duties as the ranking member of the committee investigating the connection between the Trump campaign/administration and the Russians.
