Trump: "I think we've had one of the most successful 13 weeks in the history of the presidency."

Donald Trump today told reporters, “I think we’ve had one of the most successful 13 weeks in the history of the presidency.” This may be a literally true statement, in the sense that Trump may actually think it. However, it is a strange opinion for a person to hold. Trump has had two executive orders blocked by federal courts; seen his first, major legislative initiative collapse in the House of Representatives after falling to 17 percent in the polls; accepted the resignation of his National Security Adviser; is facing a major investigation by the FBI; has probably violated the Constitution; has assembled a staff riven by utter mutual loathing; and has lowest approval ratings ever recorded for a president as this stage in his term.

He has also only held office for 11 weeks, even though it may feel like 13 or even more.

I've encountered people in my day-to-day life that think everything they do is peachy keen and hunky dory. The kind of person who tells a terrible joke, and then laughs his head off. I need a strategy, we need a strategy to deal with this.

Probably not appropriate but it would solve the problem. The other saying was, "Fuck em, feed em fish heads!" Never figured out what that one meant but I still like it.

Seriously though, I am dealing with one of those delusional asshole Trumpers at work. My strategy is to try to top his giddiness by showing how much I enjoy all the floundering failure of the repugs so far. It has calmed him down some. They enjoy thinking that liberals are beside themselves with fear, anger, and dismay. NEVER let them see you sweat!

10 years ago his Trump steaks were the "World's Greatest". "The Apprentice" was the "highest rated NBC show is history" or whatever he claimed.

He's too dumb to know when he's failed.

The visual of Trump sticking his head around the corner while a dark thriller plays on the in-flight entertainment (I saw a news clip with some weird hooded guy in it) isn't quite up to the "Sarah Palin gives a news conference while a turkey is slaughtered behind her" standard, but it's not far off.
