am I hearing correctly? 59 VERY EXPENSIVE missiles hit an airfield that was operational the

next day? how is this possible? (have been out of touch the last few days. please tell me I did not hear that correctly.)

I saw a pic of a supposedly destroyed "airplane shelter" (whatever the hell that is) but not the plane)

just damage some of the, uh, nearby... stuff.


in truth, it does appear that they deliberately avoided the airstrip.

the obvious inference is that they wanted to do "something" that would clearly amount to a slap on the wrist, militarily speaking, not to deal assad a real set-back.

in other words, accomplish nothing except piss off a whole new class of anti-american terrorists in exchange for a temporary bump in the polls for donnie.

i.e. "we're doing this to show our Republicans here in the USA how tough we are. Don't take any of this seriously. We're not out to hurt anyone or cause damage that will be inconvenient to your operations."

Because without the support structures like fuel, repair and munitions depots, all the planes could do is land and take off from the strip.

Think of it like this: your favorite gas station has all it's gas pumps ripped out, the shelves are bare, and the donuts are gone. You can still pull in, park in the lot, walk in and out the doors, and drive off again, but that's about it.

Would anyone say that gas station is still in business?

I read that Eric Trump said the reason for the strike was Ivanka being upset after seeing the pictures. Don, being a good dad, gives his little girl whatever she wants. I hope she doesn't request giant firecrackers on the Korean peninsula.
