On Tuesday, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos reversed Obama administration directives that were supposed to make it easier for borrowers to pay back their student loans. Being mean just to be mean.

Fuck her!
Poor kids can't have kids, buy houses...because every dime they get goes for loans, and the banks milk them when they got the money at practically zero interest rates.
It is unconscionable. She is unconscionable.
I would like to see her in prison...hope she fucks up enough that her family's billions can't buy her out!

(16,937 posts)I sent a note to PA Senator Pat Toomey (yes, I live in PA, but he's NOT MY Senator - at least he doesn't care about MY interests) urging him NOT to vote for the nomination of DeVos. I got back this BS response about how "wonderful" she was and had the interest of the students of the country as her top priority. I called "BS" and that was that - he helped vote her in.
Now this - making it easier for Wall Street and Big Banks to get their money (you go, Scrooge!) while the "students" struggle to make a living without the protection that had been put in place by PRESIDENT OBAMA.
Well, I wanted to send a "thank you" note to Toomey, and with some background information available on-line, LO and BEHOLD it turns out that this SPECIAL senator had been employed by Chemical Bank at one time, and then Morgan, Grenfell & Co. - both entities that will probably be showing up at Senator Toomey's office with "special" envelopes of thanks, plus a "wine & dine" evening, or weekend, or exotic stay over the next break.
I responded again to him, encouraging him to leave a generous tip for the struggling college kid waiting on his table, figuring he'd be more than willing to help - it's the least he could do!
