Some good news for a change - Rod Carew's heart transplant

The link to the ESPN story is below. Konrad Reuland was a 29 year old mid level football pro who died of a brain aneurysm, His heart and kidney went, quite by coincidence, to Carew. The families are now close as the younger man's heart beats in the older man's chest.

But here's the karmic part. When Reuland was a kid he met the man who was to become his hero - Rod Carew! From that one meeting, Konrad wanted nothing more than to be an athlete. All because of Rod Carew.

Sometimes in this world there is a syncroncity of circumstances that you realize just had to be.

And now Rod and Konrad, the Carews and the Reulands will be working together for a greater good. Organ donations.

I really pulled for him to hit 400 back in the day. One year it looked like he might pull it off. brewens Apr 2017 #5

Rod! He was a great baseball player, first with the Twins, then ANGELS. More importantly he's a fine person from what I've heard.

Such a long season to keep that up though. He probably would have been able to had he played a few decades earlier.
