Mostly filled with military type minded Republicans?
Maybe that is why they are slow on the draw here on the Russian problem.
WTF else explains it?

(3,256 posts)In my lifetime I have seen feds manufacture evidence, withhold evidence and coerce false testimony. However, they don't dare screw up on this one because their is too much known by those on the outside. Conviction rates are the coin of the realm inside the FBI and when they go at it they do a very thorough job. Every I is dotted and ever T is crossed. Besides, they are in uncharted territory. We've never had a truly corrupt President before. Even the really bad ones like Buchanan were not corrupt. Many broke some laws, even Teddy Roosevelt attempted to influence a court case, but it was pretty inconsequential and the defendant (Haywood) was acquitted. By and large we've been very lucky in our history and have been mostly served by people of honor. I remember one guy that thought he was getting away with it because they move so slow, but when the indictment came down it weighed pounds and covered details for years.
More important than waiting for the ax to fall is organizing for change in the meantime. It will do us no good if we don't hsave good people to run the most corrupt organization on earth into the ground. By this I mean the whole Damn Republican Party, I usually state it in those term because i was grown before I leaned that damn Republican was two words. A good start would be to take control of the language. There is no such thing as a "moderate" Republican. I would also like the term "Conservative" to disappear. They are not conservative in any sense of the word.

(1,046 posts)point: that other, allied intelligence agencies have lots of knowledge of collusion. The US can't just do nothing. The US needs to fix and rebuild its credibility.

(4,612 posts)and I don't trust the FBI under Comey. I hope I'm proven wrong. I understand the need for a thorough and detailed case to be built, but once itchy-finger, macho Trump bombs the shit out of somewhere (N. Korea, or fill-in-the-blank country) we're truly screwed and it will be too late.
