I am changing planes at Hartsfield on the way back to Germany.
The local paper, the AJC, ran an article today, Sunday, about the upcoming election for the 6th district. In one blurb about Republican Karen Handel, it says about her: "In 2012, she [Karen Handel] resigned from a leadership role with the Susan G. Komen Foundation after it reversed its decision to cut ties with the abortion rights group Planned Parenthood."
This kid of deliberate mischaracterization of PP and what it does can NOT be allowed to stand unchallenged. PP is SO much more than an "abortion rights group," to let stand such a deliberate misstatement, especially in the South, would be a mistake. The AJC needs to be flooded with letters and bombarded on its website of Facebook page for this kind of "reporting."
My father was a journalist of some national prominence, and this kind of thing makes my blood boil. He would have been all over their Washington bureau for this. I have also written to Cecile about it.

Good for you in bringing this to our attention.

(54,428 posts)That's what pissed me off. They reported it as if it were a well-known fact rather than a lie they perpetrated.
Cecile gets a TON of email.of course, even to her private server, but I hope she sees this in time to shoot them off an acidic note nailing their right-wing asses to the barn door!
