RussiAfD German chancellor candidate Petry throwing in the towel

German very-far-right-wing party AfD just lost their chancellor candidate for the elections in September.

Frauke Petry, like most right-wing populists nowadays, met with Putin in February. Today she announced via Facebook that she will no longer be available as a chancellor candidate.

It's not clear who the new candidate for AfD might be. Petry is perceived to be a moderate AfD politician, while many other prominent AfD members appear to be extremists, sometimes even bordering on holocaust denial.

Some Germans now hope that AfD will be unable to get 5% of the vote with a new extremist candidate, which means that they'd get no seats in the Bundestag in September. Right now, polls show the AfD between 8% and 11%.

Their main topic is being against immigration.
And they are associated with the cooks, conspiracy-theorists and sovereign citizens of what is the german equivalent of the Tea Party.

If you want Neonazi-politics but don't like the Skinhead-scene, the AfD is the party for you.
