(41,832 posts)have a huge national funeral for someone, (even if the family didn't want it, and refused to be there) He would go ahead and do so, especially if the the person was a soldier who died by mistake in a fouled up operation.

(32,025 posts)Funerals of ex-presidents are government functions not private affairs. As soon as a president leaves office he has to plan his funeral. Obama has already planned his. Whatever the plans are for Bush and Carter have long be planned.
