3. Actually this was the second incarnation of the Senators.

The first Washington Senators left for Minnesota to become the Twins in 1960.

A year later, the second Washington Senators began play in 1961. They would leave DC ten years later to become the Texas Rangers.

4. Actually the Minnesota Twins played their last game as the Senators in 1960.

The 1961 team became the Texas Rangers in 1972. (Thank You Bob Short! )JFK threw out the ball at the beginning of the 1961 season.

8. I thought the team that became the Rangers came in a little later in the 60's...

I remember seeing them come in and play the Indians. Frank Howard was their big power hitter and I remember him smacking a homer into the Bleachers at the old stadium some 435-450 feet away from Home...

10. Some old familiar faces,

and some that don't quite come to mind very quickly.

First, is that Old Man (George) Romney at right-center? I can't quite name the woman with the red hair near him, but she looks familiar. I think that would be Mike Mansfield to Dirksen's left.

Dirksen was a pain in the ass, but even ass a kid I don't remember him ever doing such hateful things as the current crop.
