We have done a much better job of assimilating people. Being American is rooted in values, not in blood and soil. It's much easier to become "American" than to become "French", "British", German, et cetera.

I remember a lot of people here calling me a "pearl clutcher" for suggesting that we not count chickens afore said hatch last fall. People were pretty sure she had it sewed up and in the bagl.

Conclusion- A 26 point lead is a lot more meaningful than a 3 point lead.


BTW, if we had a popular vote like France Hillary would have won.
