granting paid sick days. Then the GOP-controlled legislature, notwithstanding their whining about the importance of local control, passed a bill prohibiting cities or counties from passing any legislation granting more rights to workers (sick leave, minimum wage) than is granted by state law. Strangely, the GOPers love to complain about how wrong it is for the legislature to fund light rail and other mass transit for urban areas when it isn't needed out there in North Bumfuck.
