I'm a progressive. Always have been. I go to rallies. I write letters to my senators and congress people. I sign petitions. My inbox is full of emails from covering dozens of democratic causes. But enough is enough. I have bills to pay and you can't have anymore of my money!
At least half my emails solicit donations, and it seems that every petition I sign dumps me at a page asking for more.
Support abortion rights? Send money.
Women's rights? Send money.
The environment? Send money.
Impeach Trump? Send money.
I realize that politics is an expensive endeavor, but I'm not seeing a lot of return on the money I've contributed in the past. I contributed to Hillary's campaign when 100% of the polls claimed she'd easily win last November's election. Now Donald Trump is President <cough, cough>.
So here's the scoop. From now on, you have my active moral support, but I'm not rich, and I can't dish out 10/50/100 triple-matched bucks for every issue I support, especially in light of the fact that my biggest issue is getting money OUT OF politics!
