In 2015, Kenneth Stancil murdered Ron Lane at Wayne (NC) Community College because he was angry at being fired and hated gays. I live about a mile from that campus and work about 3 miles from that campus. It took 90 minutes to convict him with all the overwhelming evidence. He will likely spend his life in prison which is where he belongs. Honestly, this crime hit close to home both literally and figuratively. Like Lane, I am a gay teacher. I am grateful that he will be in jail.

but he was clearly an evil young man. I know people who had him in class and he was a decent kid supposedly.
