Calling the ACA "Obamacare" was a failed attempt to disparage President Obama on a health care plan that Republicans seemed adamant would inevitably fail. Instead, while not perfect, Obamacare became an asset to millions and provided healthcare to many who had been denied such assistance for years. The Obamacare label thus lost much of its stigma amongst the general public and was embraced, even by the President himself.
But it was originally intended to be a badge of shame.
Now, should the AHCA pass both houses and signed into the law by the Madman, I would hereby label it Trump"care".
Not Trumpcare.
Trump"care". With the quotation marks firmly around the "care" portion to clearly denote the sarcasm. Because we all know that Trump himself doesn't give a damn about your healthcare.

(25,251 posts)It's the Repugs baby and we need to tie this around all their necks and use it to take back the House in 2018.
I'm hoping that Trump won't be around in Nov 2018 - but the Repugs will still be around. We need to resoundingly send them a message and we need to take them down in 2018.
I'd call it RepubliCare.

Because by the time the Trump/Russia deal hopefully comes to a head, Donald Trump's name will be so poisonous that no Republican will want anything to do with him.
Sure, they could impeach him and remove him and claim they never owned him. But at that point, we'll hit back and remind the American public that the Republicans brought us Donald Trump, a man who sold out our democracy to Vladimir Putin and Russia for his own little personal gain and glory.
And at that point, no one--not Mike Pence, not Paul Ryan, not any one of the single Congressional Republicans, will be able to escape the stench that is the name of Donald Trump.
Because we'll conveniently show the American public how the Republicans time after time championed and apologized and supported Donald Trump before it became politically inconvenient for them to do so.
Trump's name will be absolute mud in 2018. And by that virtue, so will the Republicans.
