As we marked the first hundred days of the Trump disaster, all we heard from GOP bobbleheads is that the Republicans desperately needed to chalk-up a win in their column.
And thats exactly what todays little charade was all about. No doubt word went out to House Republicans that sticking together and voting yea (on a bill they all know is never going anywhere anyway) would get them that elusive win.
It looks good on the scoreboard, makes it appear that the party is united behind Trump and gives the old man an excuse to throw a kegger at the WH to celebrate his yuge and bigly! victory.
What a farce. It only took minutes for Senate Republicans to announce they wont vote on the House-passed bill to repeal and replace Obamacare, but will be writing their own legislation instead.
But hey, guys, theres plenty of beer to go around so drink up, slap each other on the back, and congratulate yourselves on achieving sweet fuck all while attempting to ass-fuck your fellow citizens!
I hope Trump got lots of pics of todays festivities, so he can look back on them and reminisce about that brief shining moment when he threw a suds-fest to celebrate yet another defeat while calling it a win.
For those keeping count, that big fat zero on the GOP side of the scoreboard is still up there, and all the beer-guzzling and back-slapping in the world isnt going to change that fact.

I honestly thought I had seen it all.

(27,814 posts)... their bill is already DOA in the Senate. So all they "accomplished" was letting their constituents know beyond doubt who was willing to sell them down the river - despite not being able to pull it off.

(16,339 posts)It's always been the GOP's ace in the hole - knowing their base is far too stupid to understand what's going on, and counting on that stupidity to keep them in office.
The Democrats' biggest challenge has always been having to appeal to people who actually DO pay attention and KNOW what goes on - and are therefore much harder to satisfy.
