Vampires craving blood...

Trump wanted a "win" badly. He needed one. For his ego, if nothing else.

Ryan needed to raise his poll numbers. His back-home approval ratings were reported to be in the mid-20's. Very low. Sad.

Ryan has attempted to not get too close to Trump on any issue until he felt the pressure from this healthcare issue. They needed to get something done. There were rumors that he might be replaced as Speaker of the House. That would have been a devastating demotion before the next election. They had him sort of over the barrel. No doubt that he felt the pressure.

Trump needed a legislative "win" - he had signed a bunch of executive orders already - but he had nothing legislatively. He put the squeeze on Ryan.

The Republicans in the House, as a whole, felt that they needed some type of "win". They agreed with their President that they needed to pass something. Anything.

So, they passed one of the stinkiest pieces of legislation that had ever gone thru any Congress. And sent it over to the Senate. They will probably need rubber gloves to handle it?

But, they got their "win". Mr Trump put them in buses and brought them all over to the White House and furnished coolers of beer for them to enjoy the trip. He was in the mood to celebrate.

After all, if they can't celebrate when millions of women and children are kicked off healthcare, when can they celebrate? Perhaps when the money saved from kicking women and children off healthcare goes to a big taxcut for Mr Trump and his gilded ilk?
