The Republican totalitarian kakistocracy isn't coming, we're smack in it now. And the stakes are life vs death.

Look at what he did in the first few weeks of his illegitimate presidency. We can't wait for Russian investigations or the Repub to say he's crazy and impeach him. We also can't put all of our eggs into one basket hoping the Resistance will come to the rescue. This has to come from every rational person and not just women, minorities, the ill, immigrants, etc. I have been "resisting" since Nov 9th and will continue to do so but I am a realist.

That's been posted many times on DU, but we don't have two years! They are taking a sledge hammer to our government & the dems continue to play by the rules. Every day I become a little more resigned to the fact that no one is going to do anything about Donald Trump. The Russian investigation doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The republicans sure aren't pushing it. The dems couldn't if they wanted to, since they've been neutered. The media seems to have lost interest, except for a few on MSNBC. The military is probably happy to be given a longer leash with less accountability. If the Comey hearing is any indicator, the intelligence community won't do anything. And We the People are busy working 2-4 jobs to keep our heads above water, while they take away our health care & set their sites on our social security & medicare.

There are five people in my life that I know voted for Trump & I've avoided them since the election. But with each passing day, I fear I may not be able to be civil to them if I see them.

But what do we do?

The only thing that seems remotely helpful is to apply pressure to every Republican in the Congress. My folks are all Dems and very good ones. I can call them and say "Good job. Keep it up." But I have no faith anyone in the Congress would listen to me if I'm not their constituent. Hell, they're even avoiding their constituents.

I've given money to Act Blue to help defeat the 24 vulnerable Republicans in the House. I can give more money. I marched in the Women's March and will march again (proudly wearing my pussy hat). Other than that I don't know what power I have.

If they don't start doing it now, we will see even more catastrophic events.

The entire Republican Party is corrupt to its core. How do we know this?

WHO in the GOP is renouncing their agenda? Where are the dissenting voices from within?

There aren't any. Some GOPers are voting tactical dissent, but are not renouncing the entire Republican agenda of more money and power for the rich and fewer quality-of-life rights for the rest of us.

They don't care about anyone but their own wealthy slice of the nation. Everyone else? They're unnecessary hangers-on. They're liabilities if they aren't cheap labor. They don't need quality of life. They need to die.

They are not. They are a year and a half away. And a new Congress is nearly two years down the road.

Unless we can make things so uncomfortable the Representatives start resigning en masse, leading to special elections to be won by Democrats, things are going to get vastly worse before we can hope to begin to change things back.

and the long distance between any potential next election, there's too much to lose. We cannot wait any longer.

It's a real challenge -- knowing that each day Trump is destroying something in our lives. I believe that this Republican rot can be destroyed by the light of truth. We need to shout it from the rooftops.

Know anyone who voted for Trump? Tell him (or her) he's unAmerican. Trump has been violating the Constitution with his conflicts of interest since the day he took office and three of his executive orders have been ruled unConstitutional.

One cannot love America and also support Trump. America is defined by our Constitution, and if you're fine with the Constitutional violations, you don't love America.

We cannot wait until 2018.

in all 50 states recall votes on every republican elected official. I mean every one of them that are subject to recall. Make them put out the effort and spend the money to fight against losing their jobs.

For example, Rachel Maddow was maligned for hyping Trump's tax returns that weren't all there. However, she gave a very convincing appeal to anyone out there who might actually have the goods.

We have to encourage leakers all day, every day. We have to tattoo the corrupt Party of Russia with evidence of their traitorous behavior. And, to be honest, we have to stop being the Mom and Dad party. The rebellious and conniving Republican children keep crashing our new cars into buildings, killing many of our citizens. And, yet, we keep giving them keys to a new car so they can keep hurting more people and we can feel like we are "good" parents. We have to stop giving them the keys. We have to find a way to make so-called "red" states pay for continuously electing Republicans. I'm sorry, but the biggest beneficiaries of Obamacare are the morons that voted to elect Trump. Give these people what they voted for!

Any Democrat that refuses to endorse and support the winner of a Democratic primary against a Republican needs to be essentially excommunicated and left to their own devices with no support from the party (I'm looking at our Congressional friend in Florida and our Independent pal in Vermont). We don't have the luxury of being purists at this point.

This is an emergency. Waiting two years or two months while doing nothing is not an option. We have to prime good Democrats to apply pressure, every day. Publicly challenge Republican lawmakers when they hide from their own constituents. Use social meda. March, join the Indivisibles or a similar group, nag your own Congresspeople relentlessly. We must be thousands of thorns in their sides, all day, every day.

This is a fight to take our country back and it does not seem to be a slam dunk we will.

One big reason is the susceptibility of way too many to be suckers for propoganda.

We seem to be way too close to game, set, match. Liberal voters better show up big time in 2018.
