Dear Brad,
I have a serious question.
Do you work for the people of the 1st Congressional District of Alabama or just for the Republican Party?
Im dead serious.
Is it your goal just to stay in office for as long as possible?
Or is it to actually address the problems of folks you represent?
Of course your districts citizens politics are deeply Republican, for now.
Do you just represent them?
Or do you represent all of us?
You just voted to take health care AWAY for a lot of citizens in your district.
How would you feel if it was YOUR kid, or YOUR mother who could no longer afford to pay for health insurance?
I dont think youre a bad person.
I have to believe that youve just been taken up in the whole winning is everything mindset of our current politics.
I have to believe that deep down inside you have a heart, and a soul, and some sense of decency.
You have to quit hurting us.
Please.

He voted yes, that makes him a bad person
Why do you believe that he was "taken up" by a winning is everything mindset? Maybe that's the way he thinks, and it has nothing to do with the current political situation!
He has a heart, all animals do, does he have a soul...and since his vote will take away health care from citizens in the district he represents, he has no sense of decency!
And since he still gets coverage until the Senate makes a decision, his kid or his mother would be taken care of...so you see you give the man too much credit!

(12,253 posts)Politics is a game. Good government is important. Hopefully, your rep will think about that, and your non-alienating approach is a compassionate one to take. I hope it sparks a pang of "what AM I doing?" in him.
