Since the GOP thinks their healthcare plan is so good I have an idea. Ban congress from group policies. Make them buy individual policies only based in their home states. If the have a pre existing condition and their state lets insures discriminate then they are fucked just like everyone else

(63,221 posts)This is just so wrong. That they should all keep their insurance while dooming millions of Americans to death.

(115,836 posts)The remedy is to vote their greedy asses out of office. That's all they care about anyhow.

(115,836 posts)So it would be a group policy, even under whatever mess Trumpcare turns out to be. They did try to exempt themselves entirely (and stay on ACA), but somebody noticed and there was a big uproar. But even if they end up with the same insurance as the rest of us peons, they are all well-off and can afford the premiums anyhow. And those costs will be offset by their nice tax breaks.

(15 posts)they haven't for years.
They still get the same federal subsidy, however (72%) if they choose the gold policy on the DC exchange. If they choose anything else, they get no subsidy.
