It's not really incredulous that the coward would use that as an excuse. He wouldn't tell the truth and say if was because he's getting too close on the Russian collusion.
Thanks for all these tweets, Coyote

the stupid ones, the deplorables, are the minority of the Republican voters and the Republican vote was the minority of the votes.

(17,984 posts)Whitehouse on Rachel was talking about how it was conceivable that Rosenstein had been upset about it for months and been looking into it. But even then, the timing is so damned suspicious! If it's an attempt to discredit Comey before his testimony, they should have done it a long time ago. All this suggests to me that The Don plays everything by ear and doesn't plan further ahead than a couple of days. He's relying on the GOP to cover his ass each time, and, hopefully, some of them will get tired of doing so.

Democrats are pressing for an independent investigation; the decision is up to the deputy attorney general
......... Rosenstein, who was confirmed to be deputy attorney general by the Senate in a 94-6 vote on April 25, is a longtime federal prosecutor whos worked for both Republicans and Democrats. In his new position, he is in charge of the Justice Departments investigation into Russian influence in the 2016 presidential election and any ties to the campaign of Mr. Trump. ................
