He refuses to say that a independent investigation should be put in place. He was on Meet the Press and I was confused by his answers. He said there is no proof of collusion and if they find any, he will take the steps to go further. Is he blinded by the bright lights? We just had a president fire the FBI leader, he fired the acting AG and a judge, who were doing their jobs. This is called a direct interference with an a federal investigation. That is a crime, Sen. Graham! Open your eyes and follow the laws.

Being a lawyer, he can craft a statement that is legally true but implicitly false...
Collusion, as it is 'legally' defined, is not really the right nomenclature for the acts of 45.....
but it is the current terminology being used to describe the existence of a nefarious relationship between 45& russia
Proof, legally, is determined by a judge or jury concluding that the evidence presented was sufficient to establish proof of guilt, of a crime, of the charges made
He can legally & truthfully say he has not seen 'proof' of anything....
Even though
He may have seen evidence of acts consistent with the definition of seditious conspiracy
So, it is true that he has not seen proof of collusion...
but it is an implicitly false statement because it implies that he has not seen any evidence of any inappropriate acts by 45.
Seditious conspiracy is a crime that is committed when two or more persons conspire to forcibly:
a. destroy or overthrow the U.S. government;
b. create obstacles or prevent the execution of U.S. laws;
c. oppose the authority of the U.S. government; or d. unlawfully possess or take property that belong to the nation.
The first amendment of the U.S. constitution protects people who have differing ideas from rest of the population.
But these rights are not available to persons who make threats. The U.S. Supreme Court has made it clear that free speech extends to protests, the exchange of ideas, and points in debate, but it does not include direct threats to a person's safety.
The following is an example of a federal statute on seditious conspiracy:
18 USCS § 2384. Seditious Conspiracy.
If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

(7,813 posts)If everyone involved in the investigation is fired, how the hell is anyone going to find proof of collusion?
If there's proof, let's dig it out and prosecute. If there's no proof, then let the world know and clear the names of the innocents. How hard can that concept be?
