I am again asking DUers to join me in the fight to keep Lawrence O'Donnell's program on the air. Please send an e-mail to her at Rachel@msnbc.com asking her to use her obviously considerable clout to attempt to convince MSNBC management to renew Lawrence's contract.
Come on everyone, lets stop this travesty!
I copy here the text of my own e mail to her.
Now we have an explanation of why the network is planning to silence this very important voice right when it is most valuable. Mr. Lack et al have decided "to rid [us] of this troublesome priest [of the truth] (Henry II) "because he was too critical of the president. http://www.politicususa.com/2017/05/16/comcast-lawrence-odonnells-msnbc-show-critical-trump.html . Too critical? No, Accurate!
Rachel I have written and/or called to MSNBC , Mr. Lack, NBC Universal, and Comcast demanding that [they] renew Lawrences contract, but now that the craven rationale for this reprehensible decision has been exposed, I wanted to let you know that if the network goes through with this, I will simply stop watching MSNBC altogether. Please see what you can do to stop this foolish act by [ ] Mr. Lack. One way you can show what I suspect is your own dismay about this defeat of honest journalism is to announce that you (with your No. 1 ratings) will leave the network as soon as your current contract is over.
Help us - your viewers and Lawrences stop this outrageous, ill conceived and craven plan.
Thanks for your attention.

(5,528 posts)The corporation made a decision, not on ratings, but on ideology. They'll drop Rachel when her contract is up. I never had cable but watched Donahue while on a work trip. I was stunned when he was dropped. Highest ratings. Very well done show. The corporations have the money and the right wing conservative ideology fits their needs. I've watched CNN overseas. Totally different than domestic presentation. More like BBC. We have to find another way to proceed.
