'Art of the Deal' co-writer: Trump will resign so he doesn't 'lose'
By John Bowden - 05/19/17 08:02 AM EDT

The co-writer of President Trump's bestselling book "The Art of the Deal" predicted Thursday that Trump will resign before he is consumed by one of the scandals rocking the White House.

In an interview with CNN, Tony Schwartz said that Trump is in "pure terror" that the scandals surrounding his administration could boil over to impeachment, and will likely walk away.

“There is no right and wrong for Trump. There’s winning and losing. And that’s very different from right and wrong. Right now he’s in pure terror that he is going to lose," Schwartz said.

"And by the way, he is going to lose.”

Schwartz predicted that Trump will seek a way to turn resignation into victory.

“He wants to figure out a way — as he’s done all his career — to turn a loss into a victory,” the author said. "And so he will declare victory when he leaves.”

Schwartz published "The Art of the Deal" in 1987 as a co-writer with Trump. Since then, the book has sold more than a million copies.

2. The people who really want Pence will figure out how to get Trump to resign.

Like maybe by arranging some really long foreign trips with schedules that require STAMINA, and then reminding folks how much traveling Hillary did as SOS.

He's a criminal and he has royally fucked this country.

Trump may think he can resign, but he's going to jail. He's GONNA DIE in jail.

I'd be shocked if he ever sees a single day inside a jail. It's not like the GOP give a damn about the rule of law.

Step 1: Lambast the media.

Step 2: Resign.

Step 3: Lambast the media some more.

Step 4: Complain how you are still being targeted by investigations. You have resigned! What else do they want? Why can't they just let this go and move on???

...the only way it is resignation, and then a lifetime of blaming Fake News and ''The crooked media' for forcing him out....

But it will be more like one of his settlements to avoid a court trial. I think he will say it is for the good of the country that he steps aside. That impeachment is trearing the country apart.

Russia and Adelson and RNC to step aside and let Pence run things a while. At least until Pence gets into trouble too.

I believe that the PTB investigating him, IC and Gang of 8, might be interested in cutting a deal too...in which he resigns and keeps some sort of peaceful, understandable transfer of power in place rather than making public all the corruption, collusion, dossier info, intelligence suspicions, RNC complicity, Russia's successful invasion etc and risking constitutional crisis, vulnerability, instability, and uncertainty.

The adults in charge will try to right some wrongs but also do it in a stable manner. I personally want the world to know what the gop did...all of it, going back to the 90s.

I'm amazed few listened to the five biographers that were interviewed before the election, people who knew Trump better than most, who called him a sociopath with a pathologically short attention span and lack of interest in anything but his own bottom line. They told us he wasn't up to this.
