I don't think any poll taken on planet earth would result in a finding that Texans are a reasonable people. I like to think that we are but that's merely because I'm a Texan. A very brief review of political actions taken within the confines of the state's borders over the last few years would belie my hope. Still, I should like to suggest that the dozen or so Democrats remaining here in the Lone Star State may possess a modicum of the faculty of reason.
With that suggestion as a guide to the personal deliberations made with myself during the quiet hours, I conclude that Mitt Romney's decision to place his dog on top of the Romney vehicle was not an act of cruelty or inconsideration. I believe that such was an act of great kindness: He gave the dog a choice and respected the dog's decision. Perhaps Romney alluded to the possibility that the dog might be allowed inside the automobile at some point during the trip. Though it is impossible for me know for certain that that option was given to the dog, I think that a reasonable person might consider that the animal's regurgitation was prompted by the weight of the stress resulting from the possibility of being bored to death within the narrow confines of the family.

(342 posts)It may be that Romney has more consideration for a dog than for a human. Just sayin'.
