President Donald Trump is reportedly no longer considering former Senator Joe Lieberman as a possible replacement for fired FBI director James Comey. While concerns about Lieberman's lack of law enforcement experience and his ties to a law firm that has done business on Trump's behalf were reportedly part of the reason for Trump's reversal, Lieberman's recent history would have made him a problematic pick. He has spent the last few years advising corporations on how to deal with law enforcement investigations. He also has links to a corner of the financial world that was lately the subject of law enforcement scrutiny and he represented a financial industry group in its legal efforts to prevent poverty-stricken Puerto Rico from restructuring its debt.
Lieberman, a former Democratic senator from Connecticut, is currently a lawyer at the Kasowitz Benson and Torres the namesake firm of Marc Kasowitz, who has just been named Donald Trumps personal lawyer in the ongoing probe of alleged links between the White House and Russian officials. Kasowitz and Lieberman have a longstanding relationship; Kasowitz worked on the latters political campaigns back in the 1970s. As FBI director, Lieberman would have been in a position to steer and potentially end a probe of Kasowitzs client.

(12,448 posts)He's been a lawyer for Dump for a long time. He was involved in the lawsuit of a NYT reporter who wrote a book that said Dump wasn't a billionaire; he was worth "only" about 250 million. Dump sued the writer for $5 billion, masterminded by Kasowitz. That's not a typo; he sued a reporter for $5 billion with a b. Dump lost because he couldn't prove his net worth; he said it was based on his "feelings." Predictably, he appealed, again with Kasowitz; the appeal was thrown out.
I'm really glad this loser is representing Dump again!

(11,949 posts)Trump could easily have proved his net worth by placing his taxes into evidence. He chose not to. Because he is not a Billionaire.
Had this been the major the talking points of every Democratic Party member interviewed and should have since the campaign started Hillary would have one. Flat out say we know Trump is lying...He is not a billionaire.
It would be so easy to prove.
But he will not do it.
