OUCH! That version hurt my ears. I had to pop my album onto the turntable as a remedy.

which supposedly was the album that the Beatles tried to top with Sgt. Pepper. Whether or not they succeeded is a matter for debate but, my oh my, what a glorious result... and nobody can dispute that it's the most acclaimed album in history. Coincidentally, I'm 64. LOL

So many 70's, 80's and 90's musicians cite PS as the genus of Psychedelia, but SP elevated it from experimental to mainstream in merely a year.
