Why Insurance Companies are bailing? or raising rates.?.

Now I’ll try to make this simple...but I will preface this post with this..

I am absolutely shocked that I knew so little about Marco Rubio’s Dec 9, 2015 ability to absolutely screw The ACA by passing a law which prevented the govt from not reimbursing 2.9 Billion Dollars expected by Insurance Companies to cover their
LOSSES for the year.. Fuck Face and his gangsters cut 2.9 Billion to 400 million! The 2.9 billion.. part of the ACA plan to keep the expected loses from not creating havoc with the Insurance Companies... It was called “Loss Corridor” in the language of Obamacare..

Now I follow all this stuff (Republican Bullshit) pretty carefully.. However I never heard of the Loss Corredor part of the ACA.Obviously these financial subsidies was the guarenteed safety net to the Insurance Companies..

Jesus Christ.. I’m surprised the Insurance companies didn’t close up shop immediately after Rubio and his minions passed this bomb into the end of the year budget ..

So read this its simple and short... But please explain to me why the DNC, Dems in both the House and Senate didn’t scream fucking bloody murder when this bill passed... I don’t even remember Obama mentioning this catastrophic event.
Someone help me understand.

The GOP had to keep it under wraps for as long as possible.

That was part of the plan all along - they wanted to see Obamacare fail in a big way.
I only read about it at the end of the campaign cycle last year.

After Rubio was out of the race and he was only half-heartedly supporting Trump, he did talk about it a little bit. I think he wanted to make sure he got credit for torpedoing Obamacare, but I don't really know what his motive was.

Yes the Democrats in Congress do know that it's a problem, but they still hoped to get a compromise bill to save it. That's the only reason I can think of as to why they didn't publicize it more.

They didn't notice either at the time.

But once it was revealed, they should have pounced on it.

Totally agree with you.

The problem is, they set the premiums for large pools of people who had pre-existing conditions and - to our utter amazement! - the cost goes up as people use more healthcare service!

The ACA intended to have those offsetting additional expenses ready to go - 'loss corridors' - to reimburse and honor the agreement with the insurers - but the Republicans keep stepping in screwing it up!

Now, they are threatening to cut off the subsidies that cover low-income 'cost-sharing reductions' for deductibles and out-of-pockets which the insurance companies are now forecasting to be added to the premiums, another reason for anticipated increases!

The Republicans have actively worked to make the ACA unaffordable, including with Supreme Court rulings.

It's insane.

If people don't know they can still sign up for Obamacare then the insurance companies won't have a large enough pool to balance their costs. Trump thinks this will force more insurance companies out of participation.

Trump also made a 20% cut to the healthcare.gov website where about 10 million Americans go to shop for insurance. That means things services like helping people enroll, running healthcare.gov, outreach and marketing, running the call center, will be reduced or eliminated.
