https://thinkprogress.org/top-trump-adviser-flirts-with-lifting-russian-sanctions-102c7b9b8933In his first trip abroad as the leader of the United States, President Donald Trump had multiple opportunities to illustrate his support of the U.S.s allies and to show his willingness to stand up to Russia.
Yet each time, he took the opposite approach.
At one point, his top adviser Gary Cohn suggested to reporters aboard Air Force One that Trump might be open to lifting NATO sanctions on Russia. The sanctions were imposed after Russia annexed Ukrainian territory, an action that also prompted the G7 leaders to kick Russia out of the group.
The discussion on sanctions and Russia came up at NATO tonight. It was a pretty broad discussion with a lot of NATO talking about Russian Sanctions, Cohn said, per press pool reports. Asked about the U.S. position on Russian sanctions, he added, I think the president is looking at it.

Cohn refused to either confirm or deny that Trump was considering lifting Russian sanctions, leaving the door open. Trump has floated the possibility of lifting the sanctions before, though his stance remains ambiguous: another senior administration official told the Wall Street Journal on Thursday that Trump was leaning toward keeping the sanctions in place.

(32,712 posts)Trump made it very clear to us that he could kill someone and get away with it. And he could, assuming the right person was targeted and killed (a racial or religious minority, or a journalist, especially someone who was both).

(19,204 posts)We, the people. I'm 67 years old and I have at least one more protest in me. When I say, "protest", I mean going to Washington, possibly getting my ass beat, and going to jail in defense of our rights. Hell yes! I can do it one more time, but without the drugs, the clap, and the hitch-hiking that made the other protests memorable, but risky. I believe I'll take the train this time.

(5,736 posts)But getting beat up is not the answer. We have got to find more effective ways of dealing with a unique problem. What worked in the sixties won't get the job done today. We can do this!

(19,204 posts)I WANT to get beat up, but in Trump's Amerika it becomes more of a possibility every day. The right be peacefully assemble is becoming less of a "right" each day. No, I'm not a sadist. I've come to like my creature comforts more with each passing year. I'm merely saying the chance of getting the crap kicked out of me won't scare me from demonstrating my love of country, and protecting that country from someone as insipid and destructive as Trump.
