(7,107 posts)Tiger notched 14 majors right out of the gate but hasn't won one in 20 years. He probably will never win one again.

(748 posts). . . is the issue at this point, let alone win a Major (or any tournament).
Rock bottom.

(129,096 posts)I think his quest to perfection essentially irrevocably damaged is body, and despite all the attempts to remedy that, he will never be able to reach that level again. And add to this his many years as the golf darling basking in the glow of the celebrity, the fall from grace was a harsh one, punctuated by the loss of his father/mentor, his various scandal-causing dalliances, and inability to come to grips with what was going on around him.

(19,066 posts)Tiger was always a big drinker, but as he aged, unlike a lot of other drinkers, he was unable to cut back. He likes to hang out with his old friends and drink, he has more money than he can ever spend and without golf he doesn't have as much to do.
Remember this, the average person drinks and drives at least 80 times before they get their 1st DUI, some studies say it might be more like 300 times. While there are exceptions, people who get caught for DUI are almost always very heavy drinkers with a serious problem who drunk drive regularly. DUI is like drug testing, it really usually only catches those with serious serious problems.
And Woods has no excuse, he's a Billionaire, he can have a driver wherever he goes.

(90 posts)Tiger hasn't been right since his father died. Tiger's upbringing was strict and scheduled and once his pops passed all hell broke loose. He was finally allowed to be a kid again and live his life. Yes he loved his father deeply but for him it probably meant he was able to do things he never got a chance to do that most of us as kids did and that's act a fool, learn from our mistakes which in turn developed our identities. Tiger is searching for himself and apparently he's having a hard go of it. I wish the man luck. To have your mistakes posted on Blogs, national TV doesn't help his cause.

(2,955 posts)The textbook example of a dickhead.
-Makes hundreds of millions playing GOLF.
-Gets a super model wife and has kids with her.
-Despite his hundreds of millions and amazing wife he still feels the need to cheat on her with a bunch of strippers/hookers/etc.
-Gets divorced and continues to drink and mess around with hookers.
-Finally gets caught driving drunk.
Zero sympathy whatsoever for this fool. He had a life most people dream about and just couldn't get over his inner selfish desires.

(13,340 posts)We need to stop our obsession with the private dramas of celebrities.
Woods has no one to blame but himself for turning into a shitbird.
But he has money to spare, several nice houses to live in, and surely can afford therapy.
Other than that, I couldn't care less about what he does with his life. I wish him well, but we have more pressing needs.
I'm way more worried about the single mom and her three kids on the verge of losing health coverage.
