ST. LOUIS -- A St. Louis man accused of shooting at three boys who were setting off fireworks faces criminal charges.
One of the boys was wounded. The 56-year-old suspect, William Prada, was charged Friday with three counts of first-degree assault and three counts of armed criminal action.
St. Louis police say the boys were shooting off fireworks in an alley around 9:40 p.m. Thursday when the man yelled at them and pulled a firearm. An 11-year-old boy was struck near his hip, and shots were fired in the direction of two 10-year-old boys. Police say the wounded boy was stable.
A firearm was recovered when Prada was arrested.

(20,776 posts)"man accused of shooting at boys with Fireworks". I thought he was shooting fireworks at the boys, but perhaps it should have said man accused of shooting a gun at boys with fireworks".
Either way, I agree. This country is a bit crazy these days. These kids were not attacking him or his house. A simple yell would have been sufficient.. but to draw a weapon and fire at kids, and what if he killed one? I doubt that Missouri has a "stand your ground law" to protect him.
This is so extreme, and shows the fear of people, who have probably listen to right wing radio, or watch Fox News. The idea that even their neighbor... IS THE ENEMY.
