I wish this for those of you still in the heat...

Open windows allowing a 70 something breeze to penetrate the house

The sound of the neighbor's grand kids playing at the margin of the backdoor light.

A heat wave waning...

Five days hiding indoors fading

with the twilight...

A simple thing, well appreciated,

the cool of an evening no longer taken for granted.

The stargazer lilies have finally bloomed like crazy and their scent is wafting in with the nice cool air.

I join you in wishing cool comfort to all suffering.

I grew up in that and was fifteen before I realized summers were supposed to be warm and sunny.

6. We were without power for two weeks, others longer after Hurricane Ike.

Time just slows down.

It all wasn't bad.

It was hot, it was still September.

My life was going to fast, it slowed with after Ike.

Time to hang out with neighbors and have bbq's at night.

Listen to the radio, listen to night sounds you don't hear normally.

Time to think sitting on the front porch at night when it was to hot to sleep.

I look back at this two weeks and would not have missed it.

I like my ac and hope we don't have a hurricane this year.

People seemed more friendly, everything went back to normal after the power came back.
