The current CEO of Marvel Entertainment (aTrump advisor) once wrote a nasty email to the studios division (back when they reported to him) that audiences don't want to see a female-led superhero movie.

there were (and still are) a lot of Lynda Carter fans (from the old series) and even Lucy Lawless fans (for those who liked "Xena: Warrior Princess", so female "super heroes" are a huge untapped market.
