What will Trump think if Gorsuch sides against the ban?

I assume his aids have considered this, although I'm sure they fear giving it too much attention with Trump. Trump probably thinks he can buy allegiance by giving people promotions. I don't think he remotely grasps the independence of the judiciary at the level of SCOTUS.

Gorsuch is a committed conservative justice. But I don't believe he's a fanatic. At least, I don't see him having some grand motive to affirm Trump's position now that he's effectively untouchable. Gorsuch knows that even conservative justices find the ban ridiculous.

Not to mention, I think the optics of the administration turning on Gorsuch is potentially too much even for Trump to desire. Packing the court with a dissident by accident? That might make Trump's head explode.

Although, maybe I'm wrong and Gorsuch will toe the line. I'm just more than a little suspicious that won't be the case.
