Why is Rachel being interviewed on her own show?

She has some kind of upper respiratory "thing" as she called it, but she spoke at length about latest Special Counsel developments, saying she is relieved that Mueller's purview has expanded to take on the Manafort investigation and the Flynn/Turkey matter so she thinks that insures Sessions won't be able to interfere and she is more hopeful that Mueller is possibly getting more resources and investigators who were working on Manafort and other cases and tying everything together with the Trump/Russia stuff.

I think Sean Hannity can't stand the fact that his show has fallen to 3rd place so he had put something in Rachel Maddow food and tried to poison her. Allegedly, of course.
