No real progress will be made on terrorism so long as Trump as president

He's so self-centered, short thinking and willfully uninformed and dismissive of long time allies that it makes it virtually impossible for the US to be part of the discussion.

He won't make progress because he needs terrorism for political purposes. He can justify greater control for himself. He can divert attention from his criminal activities. He can line the pockets of himself and his buddies. He can do all sorts of things to make himself look strong and great.

Lest someone misinterpret my comments, I'm saying that he is all that you mentioned and more. This is all a "reality" show to him and he is all about ratings.

In his mind, if there are terrorist attacks he can press his agenda, say tough things, and get the attention and approval he so desperately craves. Besides being self-centered, willfully uninformed, etc., I believe he is evil. I believe he is capable of deliberately causing such events in order to stroke his desperate needs.

Trump is an abomination but we've been stuck in this misguided war on terrorism for a long time. There is no "progress", how could there be? What would have to happen for the Islamic jihadists to stop attacking us?
